I was already wondering why noone mentioned that...
There are only three real reasons to pod-kill someone:
1. Revenge 2. Griefing 3. Ransoming
No.2 is the reason for 99% of all pod-kills. Revenge is the only noble reason to pod-kill someone, however, very, very rarely executed. Ransoming is to tedious for PKs, and something only professional pirats are doing.

Gotta disagree with you there chief, it makes sense to pod the enemy when fighting so that they cant just hop bak into another ship and come back to the fight. Unless they have there clone set to where your fighting and there is a station there, they will have to travel to get back into it. To not pod them would be like giving them free reinforcements while your own forces take losses, silly no?
Someone mentioned that earlier already, and you're both right. Pod-killing in war, or when defending your 0.0 pocket or attacking the pocket of someone, is totally legit and should have been added to that list.

Revenge is griefing. You are just trying to cause a player grief, because they made you said. You are griefing them.
So this is socially acceptable, even noble, griefing?
Yes, in the context of this game, I regard pod-killing someone because he has destroyed something I possessed or scammed me as the only noble reason to do that. Besides the lately additions to that list. Just compare that with dueling a few centuries ago, which was no only regarded noble, but demanded by nobility. Yes, I know, I'm old fashioned...
